ARSJ Mission

The mission of the Alliance for Racial and Social Justice (ARSJ) is to act to end racism and dismantle white privilege and supremacy by creating:

  • partnerships
  • education
  • training
  • safe spaces
  • social capital
  • accountability

with unified goals of protection and liberation for children, families as well as under-served communities to achieve social and economic justice and equity for all people.

As a diverse group of people, we are committed to maintaining internal and external accountability with guidance and participation from an advisory board of people of color as well as individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or gender nonconforming, intersex, queer and / or questioning (LGBTIQQ).

Our mission is to spearhead collaborative efforts to promote safety in our communities, with expertise and focus as a watchdog for mental health, child protective and court-based services. We work for social justice through unity, education and accountability among ourselves and others regarding inequities arising from anti-blackness, white privilege and white supremacy and by initiating and sustaining social action aimed at
eradicating racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, able-ism, and other abuses of power.

"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality." - Desmond Tutu
