What We Do

ARSJ is a grassroots, community-building organization committed to advancing a comprehensive understanding of issues related to racial, gender, sexual orientation, and economic disparities through a social justice framework.

ARSJ also serves as a watchdog for mental health, child protective and court-based services, spear heading collaborative efforts that promote comprehensive safety in all communities.

Current and past projects include:

    • Cross-racial, cross-cultural dialogue and action
    • Community-based court watch and Participatory Action Research (PAR)
    • Training for advocates and service providers
    • Inter-community voter registration drives
    • Community forums on domestic violence
    • National and local conference workshops and panel presentations
    • Coalition building
    • College admissions coaching for court-involved youth
